Reference and Reader Advisory Services

ACCESS AND SERVICE

The Mulberry Public Library provides reference and reader advisory services.  Information requests may be made in person, by telephone, by electronic means, and through the mail. Priority is given to in person assistance. For complex questions, we may ask for additional time to research before providing an answer.  We will make every effort to use current and reliable sources in answering reference questions.

We will not be able to provide the following kinds of assistance, which are deemed to be beyond the scope of the library’s responsibilities:

  • Provide legal, medical, tax, or financial help.
  • Entering personal information on electronic forms.
  • Online shopping, price comparisons or other personal business.
  • Provide personal opinion on any matter.

Instead we will make suggestions and provide resources for the patron to make his or her own decision. Staff may conduct a brief conversation to help them determine the needs of the patron.
